Dedicated to the philosophy, science and technology of love
The name Corsense is derived from the Latin word “Cor” meaning heart and the word “Sensus” meaning the faculty of perceiving.
Our Vision
We envision a world where love is better understood, not as an emotion, but as a practical technology that people can deliberately use for mutually beneficial human interactions.
Our Mission
The mission of Corsense Institute is to preserve and disseminate the insights and practical applications of love that Charles E. Hansen uncovered.
Message from The Board of Directors
The institute was the vision of the late Charles E Hansen beginning in the early 80’s. His goal was to use systems theory to open a new scientific inquiry into the phenomenon of love in societies and how people and social groups interact for mutual benefit. He called it the “Technology of Love Project.” Hansen’s work on the project spanned over 50 years and his first volume was published in 2005 as “The Technology of Love, Volume I.”
Today, Corsense Institute continues working to disseminate the knowledge of Charles’ intellectual work using current technology as was his wish and legacy.
Corsense Institute is a 501c nonprofit institution, privately funded and staffed by volunteers and followers. Spin-off applications from his research have been developed and applied to a broad range of practical real life experiences from children’s books to advanced game theory modeling, and for future critical thinking institutional research.
Over the past 20 years new uses, tools, and applications have evolved and branched out into such fields such as education, management practice, health care, life coaching, advanced research using game theory, mathematical modeling of justice systems, conflict resolution, and even into theology.
The digital library contains everything necessary for self starters to replicate his scientific work and apply it for their own spiritual or monetary “profit” as they wish hopefully for the benefit of others.

Origins
The institute began as a research project by Charles E. Hansen (1943-2022) in 1983 after working as a systems analyst and economic consultant specializing in economic development and deployment of computerized systems and new technologies for industry and government agencies. In research Charles conducted as a doctoral student at George Washington University and as a consultant in the university’s Program for Policy Studies in Science and Technology, he discovered key insights that were considered “outside the scope of the work.”
However, his boss on the university project, Wesley L. Tennant (1920-1991), having worked as a research consultant in the San Francisco and Washington D.C. offices of Stanford Research Institute (now SRI International), was a strong supporter of this work and assisted in the research for this effort from its conception.
Corsense Institute Today
Currently, Elaine McLellan, Charles’ sister and author of Gimpy’s Secret, presides over Corsense Institute and charts the course for a future where love is practically applied in all mutually beneficial human interactions.
Corsense Institute is a privately funded 501c nonprofit organization incorporated in the State of Colorado.
Today, this website serves as the home base of the institute and the digitally connected community of supporters around the world.
